Configuring DB threads for LANDesk inventory can be a great tool for larger environments who receive a lot of inventory on a daily basis. This is generally reserved for those environments that adhere to the Architecture Guidelines (LANDESK Management Suite 2016 Architecture - Overview ) and have some CPU and Memory to spare on their SQL server as well as the Core Server. To increase your DB thread count you will want to navigate to Configure > Services from the Core console, select the Inventory Tab > Advanced.
Note that the majority of environments do not need more then 3-4 threads. For more 3k-5k node environments 2 threads is recommended.
Note: By default this is set to 1. Do not hesitate to return that value back to 1 if you run into any database performance issues.
Here's a document that you may also want to review if you run into Database exception errors after increasing this value.
Issue: Database exception errors - Deadlocks
And lastly, please remember that this setting should entirely be based on your current inventory performance as well as the amount of available resources you have on your servers. If your machines cannot support multi-threading then I would not suggest that you increase your DB threads.
