Problems/Symptoms:

A machine will check in, however, only minimal information will be displayed such as computer name,IP address, etc. The OS, software, users, groups will likely be missing. The "ErrorBigScan" will likely contain SCN files. This should be found in the following directory: C:\Program Files\LANDesk\ManagementSuite\ldscan\ErrorBigScan

Cause:

This is typically caused by scan files being too large to be processed by the core.  The right max scan file size needs to be set in the core.

Fix:

In the ErrorBigScan folder check to see what the largest file is. Then open the LDMS console and go to Configure->Services->Inventory-Advanced Settings->"Max Scan file Size" and set the value to something bigger than the largest file that was found in the "ErrorBigScan" folder. It is measured in bytes so if its set to the default parameter of 10000000, it is 10mb. So for example if the largest scan file is 30mb, try setting it to 35mb just to be on the safe side in case anything larger goes through. After setting the appropriate value, go to the "ErrorBigScan" folder, grab the files and drop them back into the "ldscan" folder, it should then try to process them again automatically. If the scan file was too large, it will now appear in the console.
