Problem
Inventory Scans Have Stopped Processing on the Core Since the 9.5 Upgrade
Cause:
The Intermediate File Extension carried over from the MP install.
This can be caused by the scan files having the .MP extension, if you were using Managed Planet/Data Analytics prior to the 9.5 upgrade and have either discontinued using the product, or have not reinstalled it. Once you change the scan extension back to .SCN and change all the scan file extensions, the scans will process as normal.
Solution:
On the core console, do the following
- Open Configure > Services
- Go to the Inventory tab
- Go to Advance Settings...
- Find the line called 'Intermediate File Extension' , this will have a value of MP
- Change the value to SCN
- Select the 'Set', then 'OK', the 'Apply'
- You will be prompted to restart the Inventory service, except.
If you want the use the existing files that have the MP extension that are backed up in the ldscan folder do the following, otherwise delete all the MP file in the ldscan folder and wait for the device to send in a new scan to update the inventory.
- Open a command prompt
- Change directories to the ldscan folder, ie. (DriveLetter:\Program Files (x86)\LANDesk\ManagementSuite\LDScan).
- Type this in the command window (REN *.mp *.scn)
Scans should now process as normal.
